Position Summary
The Department of Finance at MSU Denver invites applications for part-time Affiliate Instructor teaching positions in Real Estate.

Responsibilities
- Teach three to nine credit hours each semester. Courses for which affiliate faculty may be needed include:
- REL 2200: Real Estate Principles
- REL 3400: Real Estate Financial Modeling
- REL 3900: Real Estate Finance and Investment
- REL 2400: Introduction to Affordable Housing
- REL 3010: Affordable Housing Property Management
- REL 3910: Affordable Housing Finance
- Be available for consultation with students
- Work and interact with diverse groups of individuals including other members of the Department of Finance faculty and the Department of Finance Chair
- As the Department of Finance is becoming increasingly oriented to online and hybrid delivery systems, successful experience with electronic LMS (in particular, Canvas) is a plus
Further, an affiliate faculty member's duties may include but are not limited to: teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner, addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies, and providing online or in person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies; and complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. The ability to adapt and learn new modes of instruction is highly encouraged. Candidates need to be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
Qualifications for REL 2200, REL 3400, REL 3900 and REL 3910
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science in Real Estate, Master of Science in Finance or Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.)
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Real Estate or PhD in Finance or ABD with dissertation complete, defense pending
- At least one year teaching at the college level
Qualifications for REL 2400 and REL 3010
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science in Real Estate, Master of Science in Finance, Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.) or Master in Public Administration (M.P.A.)
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Real Estate, PhD in Finance or PhD in Public Administration or ABD with dissertation complete, defense pending
- At least one year teaching at the college level
Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.
Qualified candidates should expect to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
Salary for Announcement
The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy.
