Description
The Department of Anesthesiology at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist as Chief of the Pediatric Anesthesia division.
The Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology will lead all aspects of Pediatric Anesthesiology within the Department of Anesthesiology, reporting directly to the Vice Chair for Clinical Operations and collaborating closely with the Chair and the Associate Vice Chair of Clinical Operations. This role includes oversight of clinical operations at York Street and Shoreline Medical Center, pediatric preoperative services, and non-operating room anesthesia services, and close collaboration with pediatric cardiac and regional anesthesiology. The Chief will represent the division in relevant meetings across YNHH, YNHCH, and other related bodies, with potential expansion into additional delivery networks as needed.
Qualifications
The candidate for this role should:
- Be eligible for appointment as an Associate or Professor at the Yale School of Medicine.
- Current ABA Diplomate in Pediatric Anesthesiology or equivalent.
- Possess organizational and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with all members of the Pediatric Anesthesia team both clinically and administratively.
- Have strong teaching skills that will be integral to resident and fellow education.
- Be experienced with the relevant administrative and regulatory issues.
- Be supportive of clinical research and be able to work with others in clinical research design and conduct.
- Be Proficient in interpersonal skills for multi-disciplinary team building.
- Be experienced in management as a Division or Section leader with vision.
- Be innovative, forward thinking, and fiscally responsible.
The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology provides care for over 8,500 children in a variety of clinical settings: including Children’s Hospital OR’s, MRI, CT scan, interventional cardiology/radiology, radiation oncology and pain management. There is an established Pediatric Fellowship Training Program as well as an opportunity to work with anesthesia residents. There are robust clinical/translational research programs within the Department including opportunities for T-32 and National Clinical Scholar Physicians.
