Apprenticeship Coordinator-NJ DOL GAINS-Grants Funded 18 Month Position
Job Summary
The Apprenticeship Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development's (NJDOL) Growing Apprenticeship in Nontraditional Sectors (GAINS) grant program, which aims to promote apprenticeships in healthcare sectors. As the primary point of contact for the program, the Apprenticeship Coordinator will implement, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the program, ensuring that it is running smoothly and efficiently. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with the hospital partners, as well as coordinating the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of apprentices. The Apprenticeship Coordinator will also monitor program progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to address challenges, ultimately contributing to the program's goal of increasing apprenticeships in healthcare sectors and supporting workforce development in New Jersey. This position reports to the Associate Provost of Research and Sponsored Projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in a field related to healthcare, education, or workforce development (e.g., healthcare administration, education, business, or a related field).
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in workforce development and apprenticeship management, preferably in an academic environment.
- Experience in managing apprenticeship programs, coordinating with hospital partners, and supporting apprentices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including hospital partners, educational institutions, and industry experts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and inform program improvements.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing apprenticeships in healthcare (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with database management and data analysis software.
- Excellent human relations and written and oral communications skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
