Shape the Future of Asset Management at UniSQ
Are you passionate about leveraging data and systems to drive smarter asset management? At UniSQ, we’re building a future-focused Facilities Management team that ensures our campuses remain safe, sustainable, and efficient. As our Asset Information and Systems Advisor, you’ll play a critical role in how we manage and maintain the infrastructure that supports thousands of students and staff every day. This is more than a technical role - it’s an opportunity to influence strategic decisions, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to UniSQ’s vision of excellence in education and research.
Who you are
You’re a detail-oriented problem solver with a knack for turning data into actionable reports. You’re someone who enjoys order, insight and improvement - and you know the value of good data in making confident decisions. You thrive in collaborative environments and have experience in asset management or maintenance planning and take pride in building frameworks that others rely on.
What you'll do
As our Asset Information and Systems Advisor, you’ll be the go-to expert for integrating asset planning with data-driven insights. Working closely with the Maintenance team, your work will ensure our assets perform at their best, comply with legislative requirements, and support long-term sustainability. From developing planned preventative maintenance programs and maintaining our asset register, to optimising asset information systems and generating asset lifecycle reporting, you’ll help shape strategies that keep UniSQ moving forward. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in transforming how we manage and maintain our assets by:
- Developing robust preventative maintenance programs that enhance asset reliability and compliance
- Collaborating across teams and with external contractors to validate data and maintain comprehensive asset registers
- Analysing asset condition and lifecycle data to inform multi-year infrastructure renewal strategies and capital planning
- Driving continuous improvement in asset data management and systems integration
- Contributing to the development, implementation and review of strategic asset management initiatives including policies and procedures, condition assessment programs, and asset management plans
What will help you succeed
Along with a relevant degree with subsequent experience in maintenance planning, asset management, or facilities maintenance/operations; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training, ideally, you’ll bring:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a dedication to maintaining data integrity
- Proficiency in asset management systems (EAM/IWMS/FMIS/CMMS) and reporting tools like Power BI.
- Familiarity with asset condition assessment frameworks and lifecycle cost modelling
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
If you’re familiar with compliance frameworks and ISO 55000 principles, that’s a bonus.
Most importantly, you share our values of respect, integrity, and excellence.
