Skills/Qualifications
Requirements for the Position of Assistant Professor:
- holds a doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of engineering and technical sciences, in the discipline of Civil Engineering, Geodesy and Transport (or a related discipline), with a specialization in geodesy and cartography;
- is the author or co-author of at least four scientific monographs or scientific articles published in journals or by publishers included in the official list applicable in the year of publication;
- has received a positive evaluation from the committee responsible for teaching activities concerning the courses taught; in the case of candidates applying for employment who are not employees of SGGW, has received a positive evaluation from the relevant committee for a scientific presentation delivered at a seminar organized by the unit in which the candidate is applying for employment;
- has a documented good command of English or another congress language, at a level enabling independent preparation of scientific publications in that language and presentation of research findings at scientific conferences;
- leads or has submitted a research project involving scientific research, development work, or the implementation of investments related to education and scientific activity;
- an additional advantage will be, in particular, completion of a research internship abroad at a scientific institution or demonstrable scientific activity with an international scope;
- very good knowledge of MS Office and MATLAB, geodetic/GIS software, including C-Geo, WinKalk, Micromap, ArcGIS, QGIS (or equivalent software), as well as AutoCAD;
- ability to work in a team and availability, including willingness to teach in a part-time/non-traditional mode, including weekends;
- teaching experience will be considered an additional advantage.
Requirements for the Position of Assistant:
- holds a Master of Engineering degree in Geodesy;
- demonstrates research and teaching interests and the ability to further develop them;
- has a documented good command of English or another congress language, at a level enabling independent preparation of scientific publications in that language and presentation of research findings at scientific conferences;
- very good knowledge of MS Office and MATLAB, geodetic/GIS software, including C-Geo, WinKalk, Micromap, ArcGIS, QGIS (or equivalent software), as well as AutoCAD;
- ability to work in a team and availability, including willingness to teach in a part-time/non-traditional mode, including weekends;
- teaching experience will be considered an additional advantage
Specific Requirements
The position covers three main areas: research, teaching, and scientific cooperation. The candidate should conduct classes on geodesy and cartography. The candidate should also give instructions and supervise the students' work concerning those subjects. The classes will be held in Polish and English. Minimum 240-hours contract per academic year.
