Job Details
The Department of Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry (http://mbb.yale.edu/) at Yale University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty appointment in Computational Biophysics and Biochemistry. This opportunity is available at all ranks, including Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor. This search will focus on candidates with innovative computational research programs that will advance our understanding of biomolecular and cellular processes. The Department, which is administered both by the Yale Faculty of Arts & Sciences and the Yale School of Medicine, pursues a broad range of basic and applied research topics that contribute both to the undergraduate teaching and medical research missions of the University. Priority will be given to candidates with research areas outlined in the University-Wide Science Strategic Plan and the Yale School of Medicine Research Strategic Planning.
Research could involve purely computational approaches, or blend computation with wet bench research. The Department is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, service, and interactions with other departments featuring computational methods, will contribute to the excellence of the academic community across multiple dimensions.
Qualifications
Applicants must have met the requirements for a PhD or equivalent degree at time of hire in computational biophysics and biochemistry or a related field. Communication skills conducive to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels are necessary. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026.
