The MIS Program, hosted by the Division of Health Professions at FHS, is a joint program with the Faculty of Medicine offering students a BS in Medical Imaging Sciences. During the first year of study, students take basic science and core courses; the second and third years introduce students to different disciplines of medical imaging sciences (e.g. medical imaging anatomy, imaging physics, sectional anatomy, radiographic pathology, image analysis and others) in parallel with hands-on clinical training at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). The program enrolls approximately 25 new students each year.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: radiobiology, computed tomography, ultrasound, radiographic pathology, radiation therapy and nuclear imaging.
• Clinical teaching experience in medical imaging disciplines
• Clinical experience as a radiographer is recommended.
• Research agenda based on published works and/or external funding
• Evidence of involvement with professional associations and organizations

Teaching responsibilities include: delivering didactic and laboratory instruction to undergraduate students in the field of medical imaging physics, anatomy, radiographic pathology as well as other medical imaging disciplines. The successful candidate will also contribute to research and service at FHS.

FHS was established in 1954 as the first school of public health in the Arab world. At the undergraduate level, FHS offers BS in Medical Imaging Sciences (MIS), Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) and Environmental Health (EH) and a BA in Health Communication. The MLS and MIS programs, offered by the Division of Health Professions, are jointly coordinated by FHS and the Faculty of Medicine (FM). The Faculty also offers a Master of Public Health with three different concentrations, a Master of Science in Epidemiology, a Master in Environmental Sciences-major Environmental Health, and a PhD in Epidemiology, all of which are accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
