Job Description
The Department of Pathology at the University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) is seeking a full-time, tenure track, academic pathologist specializing in renal, surgical, or other subspecialties. UTMC is a tertiary care center that supports UT College of Medicine & Life Sciences programs for medical students, graduate students, and residents in a wide variety of programs. The Department of Pathology has training programs for AP/CP residents, for pathologists' assistants, and for laboratory technicians. The successful candidate will share primary clinical responsibilities at UTMC with eight other pathologists. The candidate will focus within renal surgical pathology with opportunities for subspecialty expertise. The pathologist will Teaching of residents and medical students is a critical part of this position, and the successful applicant must have exemplary teaching skills. Excellent opportunities are available for independent or collaborative research, and the candidate is expected to develop a strong publication resume. About the Opportunity
- Weekend Call 1:6
- Renal Pathology is required and surgical pathology is a plus
- Hospital-based setting
- Work with eight other anatomic/clinical pathologists
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Must be Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) Board certified
- Completion of a Renal Pathology Fellowship Required
- Completion of a Surgical Pathology Fellowship Required
- Must be eligible for licensure in Ohio
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and evidence of significant scholarly activity are essential
