Assistant/ Associate Professor
Florida Atlantic University (FAU), in collaboration with the Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute and the Marcus Neuroscience Institute, invites applications for a faculty position at the Research Associate or Assistant Professor level. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for dynamic individuals to contribute to and enhance our robust research programs in oncology and stem cell research, under the mentorship of Dr. Frank Vrionis. This position includes at least five years of guaranteed research funding to establish an independent and high-impact research program. Research interest is in translational work in malignant brain tumors using mRNA vaccines and for CAR-T approaches.
The Marcus Neuroscience Institute, part of Baptist Health Brain & Spine Care, is an innovative center for neurologic and neurosurgical care. Dr. Frank Vrionis, the Chair of Neurosurgery, specializes in treating brain, and spine tumors. He has also established the Helen and Stephen Weicholz Cells Therapy Laboratory at Marcus Neuroscience Institute.
The Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute supports state-of-the-art research and innovative educational activities of more than 100 neuroscience faculty-level investigators located at FAU and affiliate research centers. Research areas include: The Developing Brain, Brain Molecules, Brain Synapses, Brain Circuitry, Brain and Behavior, Brain Health and Disease, Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience.
Candidates must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and an outstanding record of research that demonstrates originality in addressing significant questions. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an active research group, be an interactive member of the faculty, and participate in interdisciplinary research and training.
