Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics & Finance
The Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance at Tennessee State University (an HBCU and land-grant institution) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning Fall 2026.
We seek a highly qualified faculty member with a terminal degree in Economics or Finance, who can contribute to teaching, research, and service in a student-centered, AACSB-accredited College of Business.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in economics.
- Maintain an active and productive research agenda, resulting in peer-reviewed publications.
- Advise and mentor students academically and professionally.
- Engage in curriculum development and program assessment activities.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.
- Support efforts to recruit and retain students within the Economics and Finance programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster interdisciplinary research and external partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research and/or teaching interests aligned with applied economics, development economics, financial economics, public policy, or data analytics.
- Evidence of prior teaching experience at the college/university level.
- Experience using technology in teaching (such as online, hybrid, etc.).
- Experience or strong interest in mentoring students and supporting student success initiatives.
- Ability to contribute to efforts to expand diversity and inclusion within the field of economics.
