Position Description
The Area of Marketing and Supply Chain Management in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University invites applications for one full-time, nine-month tenure-track/tenured positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with appointments beginning in Fall 2026. About the College
The Rawls College of Business is AACSB-accredited. It offers a BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information systems, marketing, management, and supply chain management. It has three MBA programs: Professional MBA, Online MBA, and the STEM MBA. It also offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research & analytics. In addition, it offers a Ph.D. with concentrations in accounting, finance, information systems & quantitative science, management, and marketing. We have approximately 70 tenure-track faculty and 60 non-tenure-track faculty. The college has approximately 5,500 undergraduate, 900 master's, and 60 doctoral students.
About the Department/School/Area
The Area of Marketing and Supply Chain Management offers a Bachelor of Business Administration in both Marketing and Supply Chain Management. In addition, students can enhance their abilities by completing a concentration in sales or supply chain management. The area also offers an online MS in Marketing Research & Analytics degree. The area currently has 26 faculty members and 6 doctoral students. Our award-winning faculty members publish research in top journals in the field and are subject-matter experts in consumer behavior, marketing theory, marketing strategy, sales management, and supply chain management. The area takes pride in excellence in teaching and has been awarded the Texas Tech University Departmental Excellence in Teaching Award. In the fall of 2018, the area launched its Sales & CRM Excellence Center.
Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a robust student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with various student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
Faculty Qualifications
- Ph.D. in supply chain management or related fields from an AACSB-accredited institution by the appointment start date
- Candidates should have a demonstrated record or a record indicative of publishing in top-tier academic operations and supply chain management journals, such as those listed in the Financial Times top 50 journals (https://www.ft.com/content/3405a512-5cbb-11e1-8f1f-00144feabdc0)
- University-level teaching experience in supply chain management courses
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
- A clear and promising research focus and methodological expertise that align with the supply chain management area's research focus
- A commitment to teaching excellence as evidenced by both the breadth of teaching experience as well as high teaching evaluations (or major teaching awards)
- A rich experience of high-quality review/editorial service for major supply chain management and operations management journals
- Supply chain management relevant industry experience
- Experience in developing programs for sustaining and expediting growth through developing industry partnerships, supporting curriculum development, helping with student placements, engaging with alumni, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills
- A commitment to provide service to the department, college, and university
