Description

The School of Business at the University of Mount Union invites applications for a full-time faculty colleague to teach in the Sport Business program beginning August 1, 2026. Faculty rank will be commensurate with academic qualifications and experience.

The School of Business at the University of Mount Union is comprised of undergraduate majors in accounting, finance, management, marketing, and sport business. Additionally, it offers minors in accounting, business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, leadership studies, marketing and sport business. The School of Business offers a breadth of knowledge and career specific study through a robust curriculum and experiential learning opportunities. Undergraduate programs currently offered in the School of Business are accredited through the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners and the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA). The department also offers an online MBA program with two concentrations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include teaching the following undergraduate Sport Business courses:

  • Sport Marketing/Public Relations
  • Sport Business Analytics and Strategy
  • Sport Sales

The candidate will be expected to:

  • Serve as an advisor and mentor for undergraduate majors
  • Actively engage with sport industry professionals, assist students with developing relationships with sport industry professionals
  • Engage in professional development, scholarly activity, and service activities for the School of Business, the University, and the community.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Sport industry work experience
  • Earned doctorate in Sport Management, or closely related discipline. ABD may be considered
  • Candidates with extensive sport industry work experience and an earned Master's Degree in Sport Management, or closely related discipline, may also be considered at the designation of Professor of Practice
  • Previous teaching experience in the sport business discipline desired but not required

Descriptive Information

Competitive compensation based on qualifications. Fringe benefits include a contribution by the University to TIAA/CREF after one year of service; contribution by the University toward hospitalization, major medical, disability, and group life insurance; tuition exchange for qualified dependents.
