Assistant Athletic Trainer
Job Summary
The Rollins College Athletics Department, a private NCAA Division II Institution, is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer must maintain a high regard for the welfare of all student athletes and perform the duties of an Athletic Trainer which include prevention, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of all injuries to several teams and multiple athletes.
This is a 10-month appointment that runs annually from August 1 through May 31 annually and reports to the Associate Director of Athletics/Sports Medicine (ADA/SM).
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide emergency and non-emergency care for athletic injuries and illness affecting athletes' participation status.
- Evaluate and treat injuries and illness within the scope of the practice of athletic training as defined by Florida law.
- Communicate (within legal guidelines) the participation status of athletes to their coaches and the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.
- Consult with coaches on safe and effective training strategies.
- Supervise Athletic Training Students.
- Design and supervise rehabilitation and reconditioning programs.
- Maintain records and produce reports.
- Maintain cleanliness of Athletic Training facilities.
- Maintain certification and licensure through continuing education.
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree in athletic training
- National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Board of Certification
- Possess a Florida Athletic Trainers License, or are eligible to obtain one
