Assistant Athletics Director of Strategy and Cap Management
Job Summary
Coordinates routine Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) activities and provides operational support for student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff, internal partners, and external stakeholders. This level functions as a coordinator responsible for scheduling, tracking, documenting, communicating, and supporting NIL processes. Work is primarily task-based and process-focused, with responsibility for ensuring routine NIL activities are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established procedures. This level works under general supervision and escalates non-routine, complex, sensitive, or high-risk matters to higher-level NIL staff.
Job Description
Coordinates routine NIL administrative activities, including scheduling meetings, tracking deadlines, organizing files, updating records, and supporting follow-up communications. Serves as a point of contact for routine NIL questions and directs student-athletes, coaches, staff, parents, external partners, or campus stakeholders to appropriate resources.
Job Responsibilities
- Supports the intake of NIL disclosures, opportunity requests, agreements, partner information, and related documentation.
- Reviews NIL forms and submitted materials for completeness, accuracy, and required information before routing to higher-level staff for review.
- Maintains NIL records, databases, calendars, contact lists, tracking logs, participation data, partner files, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinates logistics for NIL trainings, workshops, student-athlete meetings, partner events, donor activities, and brand-building programs.
- Tracks student-athlete participation, training completion, disclosure status, event attendance, and other routine program metrics.
- Prepares routine reports, summaries, lists, data updates, presentation materials, and status updates related to NIL activity.
- Communicates routine NIL procedures, deadlines, documentation requirements, and program expectations to student-athletes and internal stakeholders.
- Assists with updating NIL resources, process guides, FAQs, forms, templates, and educational materials.
- Supports brand partnership activity by coordinating basic communication among student-athletes, external partners, agencies, and internal departments.
- Identifies missing documents, incomplete forms, scheduling conflicts, delayed responses, or routine process issues and escalates them as appropriate.
- Supports coordination with athletics staff, compliance, marketing, communications, development, and other internal offices on routine NIL matters.
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism when handling student-athlete information, financial details, partner communications, and sensitive NIL materials.
- Applies basic working knowledge of NCAA requirements, Mississippi state laws, institutional policies, and internal procedures to support compliant NIL operations.
