Assistant Coach - Beach Volleyball
Primary Purpose:
The Assistant Coach- Beach Volleyball teaches and instructs student-athletes how to perform in their sport, including sport-related fundamentals, skills, team concepts, and safety practices.
Essential Functions:
- Instructs and coaches student-athletes, emphasizing fundamentals, skills development, conditioning, game preparation, strategy, and safety practices.
This position serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as outlined by the Clery Act. CSAs have federally mandated responsibilities to report crimes that are reported to them.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or two (2) years of full-time experience in the same or similar position is equal to one (1) year of completed post high school education coursework.
- One (1) year of experience in coaching and/or playing experience in volleyball and/or beach volleyball or in a related role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of effective coaching practices, including the integration of technology into instructional methods.
- Prior experience in sport sciences.
- Advanced knowledge of NCAA and Conference Rules and Regulations as they pertain to student-athletes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent skills working with social media.
- Strong skills with Animoto, Canva, and other marketing and promotional online platforms.
- Expertise with Volleystation, Volleymetrics, and Balltime.
- Demonstrated event planning and ability to implement a plan.
- Demonstrated management skills and knowledge of supervision and management practices.
- Ability to contribute to the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel
Work is performed in a standard office environment as well as at sports venues.
Work is performed during standard business hours, as well as during non-regular office hours to fulfill business needs. Extensive travel required.
Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
Hiring Range: $54,080 - $55,000 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
