ASSISTANT COACH FOR MEN'S SOCCER

The Oberlin College Department of Athletics and Physical Education invites applications for the position of Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff position, reporting to the Head Men's Soccer Coach and working with the Associate Vice President for Athletics Advancement and Delta Lodge Director of Athletics & Physical Education.

Responsibilities:

This position will report directly to the Head Men's Soccer Coach and be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the program – coaching, recruiting, and administration. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Helping student-athletes develop athletically, academically, and personally
  • Coaching and coordinating practices during the traditional and non-traditional seasons
  • Match preparation, match management, and video analysis
  • Recruiting and retention of student-athletes
  • Social media outreach
  • Travel planning
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Preference will be given to candidates with successful coaching, playing, and recruiting experience at the college level
  • Applicants should be open to working hours that include a combination of days, nights, weekends and travel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to interact positively with student-athletes, parents, colleagues, alumni, and the public
  • Comply with all College, NCAC, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Compensation:

Within the range established for this position, salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and includes an excellent benefits package. Additional income opportunities available with local clubs and camps.
