Position Summary:
Reporting to the Head Coach of Sailing, the Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the Coed & Women's Sailing Programs. This position may require evening and weekend work hours.
Essential Functions:
- Assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the Coed and Women's Sailing Programs.
- Conducts on-the-water coaching and aids in the development of student-athletes.
- Supports recruiting efforts to attract top sailors to the University.
- Assists with the maintenance of team assets, specifically the fleets of FJs and 420Es.
- Coordinates with the Sailing Team Executive Board regarding engagement and fundraising activities.
- Performs administrative duties to support the program.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of coaching experience with a competitive club, high school or collegiate program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Social media experience.
- Prior experience with video editing software.
- Prior collegiate coaching & recruiting experience (and/or a combination of coaching & competitive sailing experience).
- Competitive collegiate and/or international sailing experience.
- Substantial dinghy racing and team racing experience.
- US Sailing Level I Certification, Level 2 Certification.
- Experience and strong knowledge base in collegiate-style fleet racing and team racing.
Minimum Salary: $48,000
Maximum Salary: $50,000
