Job Summary:
The Department of Chemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences at Cleveland State University invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant College Lecturer in Chemistry, beginning August 17, 2026.
The faculty member hired is expected to teach chemistry courses, teach majors and non-majors courses that will best strengthen our Chemistry program, and participate in service.
The Department of Chemistry offers B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, a M.S. degree in Chemistry, and a Ph.D. degree in Clinical-Bioanalytical Chemistry, which is jointly administered with the Cleveland Clinic. The Ph.D. program in Clinical Chemistry is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a closely related field;
- Ability to teach areas of chemistry including General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry;
- Demonstrated teaching experience in chemistry at the college, university, or community college level;
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field;
- ACS-accredited BS chemistry degree or completion of equivalent courses;
- Documented experience in teaching chemistry lecture courses;
- Evidence of teaching excellence;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Evidence of ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds;
- Ability to manage laboratory courses.
