Position Summary

The Assistant Dean for Human Resources and Strategic Joint Employer Partnerships serves as the executive human resources and organizational strategy leader for the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. The position is responsible for the strategic direction, development, implementation, and oversight of all human resources programs, employment operations, organizational development initiatives, and complex joint employer partnerships supporting the college's mission.

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration, the Assistant Dean provides executive-level leadership on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, talent management, employee relations, and employment compliance. This role also serves as the university's representative for shared employer arrangements where the employee is simultaneously employed by the university and a separate medical entity. The position serves as the principal advisor to college leadership on human resources strategy and workforce-related matters and leads the development and administration of innovative employment models supporting the college's unique academic, clinical, and interdisciplinary environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Human Resources Leadership

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all human resources functions within the college, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, workforce needs, and best practices, including aspects unique to a joint employer structure.
  • Develop, implement, assess, and continuously improve human resources policies, practices, and programs that support the college's strategic priorities while ensuring compliance with university policies, clinical affiliates, and applicable regulations.
