Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Academic Business Operations on the Dahlonega campus. The Assistant Director in the Office of Academic Affairs provides high level administrative, financial, and operational support. This role serves as the primary administrative partner to the Director, overseeing budget processes, financial documentation, purchasing, and workflow coordination across units under Academic Affairs.
In addition to background checks for all cardholders, O.C.G.A. § 50-5-83 requires a credit check on all employees issued a purchasing card. Additionally, credit checks must be run at the time of PCard renewal.

Responsibilities
- Provide budgetary and administrative support to the Director of Academic Business Operations to include but not limited to:
- Review and process all part-time agreements and semester pay entries.
- Review all budget amendments and assist with budget balancing across Academic Affairs units.
- Prepare summer faculty agreements and verify salary accuracy.
- Manage travel processing for all Academic Affairs units, including tracking, reconciliation, and processing.
- Review, process, and track all Foundation Check Requests.
- Support mid-year spending review and documentation.
- Assist with bi-annual training for budget managers and administrative staff to ensure policies are being followed and provide any new guidelines for processes for personal and non-personal changes.
- Serve as backup to the Director of Academic Business Operations
- Performs all purchasing and p-card transactions for the Office of Academic Affairs, ensuring accurate processing, expenditure monitoring, and monthly budget reconciliation. Reviews, logs, and routes incoming Academic Affaris documentation including MOUs, PAFs, travel forms, faculty agreement forms, check requests, and purchase requisitions to support efficient workflow and compliance. Provides additional administrative and financial support to the Director as needed.
- Manages the Directors calendar, appointments, and meeting logistics while ensuring efficient scheduling flow and timely communication across all engagements.
- Reviews and approves eCore PAFs and other personnel action forms as needed to support accurate processing and ensure compliance with Academic Affairs procedures.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned to support Academic Affairs operations.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of current office software in a Windows environment, strong Excel skills required.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Strong public relations and organizational skills, Dependability, flexibility, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to be professional in manner and dress.
- Ability to multi-task, manage workload, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least two (2) years' of office administration experience required;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a university setting preferred.
