- Advise Student Program Board
- Serve as primary staff advisor to Student Program Board assisting in the development of large and small scale events put on by the student group for the undergraduate population
- Attend Program Board meetings and Events as necessary
- Train and mentor student leaders within Program Board to ensure a positive student experience and learning environment
- Events & Marketing Management
- Coordinate and develop intentional programmatic initiatives and services that positively impact the recruitment, retention and enrichment of students including coffee hours, theme months, graduate programming, commuter programming, small signature events, and DC excursions
- Supervise a graduate assistant and student staff who support the events put on by the department and assist in departmental marketing efforts
- Event Assessment and Management
- Market, promote, and track attendance and assessment data for all CSE programs and events.
- Assist in the creation, development, and enhancement of publications and informational materials that will support student engagement.
- Oversee the advertising and marketing campaigns for all CSE events including paper and electronic advertising.
- Maintain advertising calendar/timeline to ensure all programs are marketed appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain all social networking accounts to ensure content is consistently updated.
- Update and assist in the management of the various CSE websites and student organization management system
- Collaborate with appropriate University departments to ensure national awareness months are programmed for and marketed appropriately.
- University and Division Service
- Assist in the coordination of various large scale programming committees in conjunction with other student life departments and other student organizations.
- Assist in the development and coordination of curricular and co-curricular support programs and services to enhance student engagement, learning and success.
- Assist in the coordination of programs and services designed to reinforce and create connections with/between individual students, student groups, and the university community.
- Apply best and emerging practices, consistent with the Catholic identity of the university.
- Develop formal, collaborative working relationships with associated departments, including Academic Affairs; Alumni Relations; Athletics; Campus Ministry; Career Services; Center for Cultural Engagement; Dean of Students; Disability Support Services; Enrollment Services; General Counsel; Housing Services; Public Safety (DPS);Residence Life; Technology Services; Facilities and Maintenance; and Events & Conference Services.
- Become engaged with appropriate and effective professional organizations. Actively seek opportunities to receive regional and national recognition for departmental innovations and initiatives.
- Provide programmatic, volunteer, and administrative support for campus wide programs as requested (such as, but not limited to, New Student Orientation, Homecoming, Family Weekend and Commencement).
- Contribute to the overall success of the Center for Student Engagement, and the University by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree required, in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or a related area of specialization is preferred.
- Experience in campus activities specifically with leadership programs is strongly preferred.
- Must be self-motivated, well organized, and have strong oral and written communication skills and analytical abilities.
- Ability to translate a mission and vision into successful programs and services. Ability to plan, organizes, set priorities, implement and evaluate programs and services.
- Strong service orientation and ability to relate effectively with diverse individuals and groups at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work collegially and collaboratively to develop effective student-oriented services.
- Ability to communicate effectively and by using a wide variety of tools and mediums.
- Proven “hands on” and energetic team leader. Must be able to generate the confidence and trust of individuals and the extended campus community.
- Demonstrated ability to be productive, deliver high quality work, take initiative, use good judgment and solve problems.
- Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and handle heavy workloads under pressure and within deadlines.
- Ability to produce quality results with limited resources.
- Knowledge and skills with automated computer systems, new technologies, records management, database systems to support service and operational needs; skill with use of university systems within three months of appointment.
