"Assistant Director Marketing and Communications"

Position Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Director Marketing and Communications for University Brand, Marketing, & Creative Services.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Plays an important role in advancing the university's brand.
• Plans, develops, and executes compelling marketing and communications content, projects, and programs.
• Manages the creative project lifecycle, collaborating with internal design and photography staff and identifying and managing external vendor engagements.
• Bolsters brand awareness and communications excellence by contributing to resources (tool kits, guides, training) that help empower a network of university communicators.
• Plays a valuable role in ensuring the department's work is of high quality and free of errors by proofreading and copy-editing content in accordance with brand standards and style guides and verifying data and facts to ensure information is accurate and appropriate for intended audiences.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, or related field and at least five (5) years of experience in creating communications and marketing projects and content across multiple platforms; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Equipment Utilized

• MS Office Suite competency.
• Experience using content management system (e.g., Drupal, Wordpress).
• Adobe Creative Suite experience.
• Qualtrics.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to lift 10 lbs.
