General Description:
The Assistant Director of Enrollment Management supports the Director of Enrollment Management by leading and managing enrollment strategies across the full student lifecycle, including outreach, recruitment, admissions, registration, payment, retention and completion.
This position plays a critical role in monitoring, reporting, and analyzing enrollment trends and performance, ensuring leadership has timely and accurate data-driven insights to guide decision-making. The Assistant Director develops and maintains enrollment reports, dashboards, and recurring pipeline updates, and supports the division's ability to track progress toward enrollment and progression in real time. The role also supports operational execution, staff oversight, and cross-campus collaboration to remove barriers and improve student progression from inquiry through goal completion.
Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports division-wide enrollment goals by analyzing movement across key student lifecycle milestones, with strong emphasis on providing predictive rather than descriptive analysis.
- Develops, analyzes, and manages recurring enrollment reporting (daily, weekly, annual, etc), including pipeline activity summaries, conversion trends, registration completion, paid status tracking, melt indicators, and prioritized action lists to support enrollment and retention goals.
- Builds and maintains tracking tools and dashboards to monitor key enrollment indicators such as inquiries, applications, admits, yield, registration activity, paid status, melt, stop-out risk signals, and progression by student segment (including new and returning populations).
- Produces leadership-ready reports that translate complex enrollment data into clear, actionable insights and operational next steps, highlighting predictive trends in retention risk, payment barriers, and registration readiness gaps.
- Supports continuous improvement by identifying gaps, recommending enhancements, and assisting in implementing solutions that improve operational efficiency and strengthen retention outcomes, including process improvements tied to recruitment, payment clearance and academic progression.
- Ensures accuracy and consistency of enrollment and retention reporting by supporting documentation practices, validating information, maintaining aligned reporting definitions and standards, and confirming data integrity across enrollment, registration, and payment indicators.
- Partners with campus departments, including Advising, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar, and Student Success, to identify enrollment barriers, coordinate resolutions, and strengthen outcomes related to registration, payment readiness, and retention.
- Provides guidance and support to assigned staff to ensure consistent operational follow-up and timely progression through enrollment milestones, including completion of outstanding requirements, resolution of holds, and payment-related steps that affect enrollment confirmation and continued enrollment.
- Utilizes EAB Recruitment Success, Navigate 360, and Edify to support enrollment monitoring, outreach strategy refinement, performance reporting, and identification of risk points related to non-registration, unpaid status, and persistence.
- Participates in recruitment and enrollment events as needed to support Enrollment Management priorities and ensure operational alignment of event outcomes with registration follow-through, paid status progression, and retention goals.
- Serves as a key operational leader within Enrollment Management by supporting staff workflows, daily execution priorities, and service escalation needs during peak enrollment periods, with emphasis on resolving barriers that impact registration completion, payment compliance, and retention outcomes.
Education Requirements:
Master's degree required
Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in enrollment management, admissions operations, student services, institutional reporting, or a related higher education function.
- Demonstrated experience producing and managing enrollment reports, dashboards, or performance summaries used for planning, tracking, and decision-making.
- Experience supporting enrollment funnel strategy, conversion improvement efforts, and cross-functional problem-solving preferred.
- Experience leading staff projects or operational workflows preferred.
Competencies and Skills Required:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in enrollment management, admissions operations, student services, institutional reporting, or a related higher education function.
- Demonstrated experience producing and managing enrollment reports, dashboards, or performance summaries used for planning, tracking, and decision-making.
- Experience supporting enrollment funnel strategy, conversion improvement efforts, and cross-functional problem-solving preferred.
- Experience leading staff projects or operational workflows preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
- Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Some travel required.
