Job Description:

Under the direction of the respective Associate Dean of Admission, and working in concert with a designee in the Lansing School of Nursing and Clinical Sciences or other academic schools/colleges (as needed), the Student Recruitment and Admission Counselor team member will play a key role in educating, recruiting, and converting potential nursing and clinical science students to applicants, consistent with the mission, vision, and the strategic priorities.

As part of a cross-trained, proactive Enrollment Management team, this position will effectively leverage recruitment strategies; manage prescribed undergraduate admission processes; prioritize recruitment goals and complete projects as changing strategies dictate; and help to support efforts to meet prescribed recruitment goals. This position will facilitate processes for recruiting, interviewing and evaluating prospective undergraduate nursing and clinical science students for the Lansing School of Nursing and Clinical Sciences. This includes meeting/interviewing prospective students and actively managing outbound communication via multiple channels to ensure exceptional service. The position requires a maximum of 29 hours a week. This role may require some evenings and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate and reflect an understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of Bellarmine University;
  • Proactively develop, coordinate and execute recruitment efforts;
  • Assess, develop and implement marketing, communication and recruitment strategies for undergraduate and second degree students, as an integrated part of the enrollment strategy.
  • Advise and help implement undergraduate marketing opportunities;
  • Work with prospective students to facilitate the application process;
  • Work with enrollment data systems and digital media in the recruitment of students (CRM, social media, etc.);
  • Conduct effective and proactive phone, email, digital, virtual, social media, and other contact campaigns to qualify students and move them in a timely and supportive manner through the admission funnel;
  • Aggressively and proactively monitor and adjust progress toward individual goals to increase likelihood of achieving the team goal;
  • Exercise good judgment in establishing priorities;
  • Participate in the ongoing development, planning, implementation and assessment of recruitment strategies and outreach; and,
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to meet changing business needs.

Requirements:

  • Work Commitment: Expected to work up to 29 hours per week under the direction of the Supervisor. This role may require some evening and weekend work.
  • Preferred Qualification(s): Prior student recruitment experience and/or prior sales experience
  • Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: This position requires high levels of personal organization and time management, effective collaboration with various Bellarmine stakeholders. The individual will be expected to utilize Microsoft Office, Colleague (student information system), and Slate (customer relationship management system). There is also an expected ability to maintain professional and personable dispositions, as well as basic knowledge of data collection and analysis. Additionally, strong communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary. Training will be provided for the person in this position.

Additional Information:

  • Pay and Benefits: This position receives $24/hour. Bellarmine will provide mobile phone or reimburse up to $65 a month for mobile plan.
