Colorado State University invites applications for the Assistant Director of Team Science Initiatives in the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences (IRISS), housed in the College of Liberal Arts. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to lead a growing campus hub dedicated to strengthening interdisciplinary research, team capacity, and collaborative scholarship across CSU and with external partners.

The Director will play a central role in enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration, building research competencies, and supporting teams engaged in complex, multi-stakeholder projects. We are seeking an inspiring professional who can both command a room and create inclusive, productive spaces for scholars, practitioners, and community partners.

Ideal candidates will bring expertise and experience in areas such as: organizational psychology, public health, social work, management sciences, network science, sociology, educational leadership, public deliberation, community engagement, the science of team science, or related social and behavioral sciences. We welcome applicants whose work bridges disciplines and who have demonstrated success leading collaborative initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate, design, and evaluate workshops, trainings, and initiatives that strengthen interdisciplinary team competencies and collaborative research practices across the university.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor professional staff while fostering a supportive, developmental, and growth-oriented environment.
• Cultivate partnerships and expand opportunities, including grant development, external engagement, and collaboration with academic, governmental, nonprofit, and industry partners.
• Apply expertise in program evaluation, quantitative and qualitative methods, and organizational development to enhance the effectiveness and impact of collaborative science initiatives.
