Assistant Director
Position Purpose
Facilitate and manage pre-college programing that will provide the greatest outcomes for pre-college students. Design, implement and evaluate programs that serve to meet the state and federal grant goals, the university's community outreach and recruitment goals. Assist with budget development for departmental programs and student staff. Provide direct training and supervision to graduate assistants, undergraduate student mentors and tutors. Assist with monitoring community impact awards, programs, budgets and outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in education, business, counseling or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an education setting that provides early intervention programs and services to increase opportunity for students to succeed in post-secondary education.
- Experience with pre-college programs that focus on low-income students from urban settings.
- Proven ability to develop, implement and manage pre-college programs.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interface with all levels of students, parents and professionals.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supervising clerical and para-professional staff.
- Experience working with and managing grant-funded programs.
- Able to compile data and prepare reports for State and Federal grants.
- Familiarity with BANNER student record system.
