Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cape Cod Community College seeks a collaborative and detail-oriented Assistant Director to support the implementation of the Title III Strengthening Institutions Program (SIPs) grant. The Assistant Director will serve primarily as a project manager, coordinating timelines, deliverables, and communication across multiple initiatives within the grant. Working closely with the Dean of Arts and Humanities and Adult Basic Education, the Assistant Director will help ensure that grant projects remain on schedule, grant requirements are met, and cross-divisional teams are aligned in advancing student success initiatives. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) in-person position.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  1. Develop and maintain project timelines and implementation plans for Title III Project initiatives.
  2. Coordinate project meetings, track milestones and deliverables, and maintain documentation related to grant activities.
  3. Work with cross-divisional project teams including IT, Facilities, Student Services, and the Teaching and Learning Center to ensure timely completion of grant goals and objectives.
  4. Support the Dean and the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management in monitoring the progress of grant initiatives and identifying implementation challenges.
  5. Coordinate and draft grant-related reports and documentation in collaboration with the college's Grants Team, including overseeing data collection from Institutional Research and other stakeholders participating in grant activities, organizing required materials, and preparing written reports that document grant activities and outcomes.
  6. Administer grant-related purchasing processes in collaboration with the Grants Team and the Dean, including gathering quotes, coordinating RFPs when required, completing all related paperwork, and ensuring compliance with federal and institutional policies and procedures for small and large purchases and contracted services.
  7. Maintain organized records of project activities, budgets, and outcomes to ensure compliance with federal grant requirements.
  8. Manage grant evaluation activities and collaborate with external evaluator to ensure on-time completion of annual evaluation report.
  9. Assist with scheduling, logistics, and coordination for project meetings, events, and collaborative initiatives associated with the grant.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's degree in education, public administration, higher education, project management, or a related field.
  2. Three (3) years of professional experience in higher education or a comparable organizational setting.
  3. Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, including planning, coordination, and implementation.
  4. Strong organizational, project management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate work across departments and maintain effective working relationships.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  7. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience supporting federal or state funded grants or grant compliance processes.
  2. Project management certification or formal project management training.
  3. Experience working in a community college environment.

Additional Information:

COMPENSATION:

Salary range of $75,000-$80,000, dependent upon qualifications. Full-time, 12-month, Non-Unit Professional position. Includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program including option for membership in the Massachusetts State Employees' Retirement System.

This position is funded 50% from U.S. Department of Education Title III, Part A Strengthening Institutions Program grant (#P031A230075) and 50% from Cape Cod Community College institutional funds. The employee will devote 100% of their professional effort to activities supported by the Title III, Part A grant. This position is contingent upon the continued availability of federal grant funding through September 30, 2028.
