Assistant Full-Time Lecturer (Psychology)
General Summary
The Psychology Department at Eastern Michigan University seeks a full-time lecturer to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in an open area of specialization. The full-time lecturer position is an eight-month, non-tenure track contract with possible subsequent year appointments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach a contractual (15 contact hours per semester) load of courses, both undergraduate and graduate, as assigned by the department.
- Assign and submit grades in accordance with established University schedules.
- Create and maintain syllabi in accordance with established University standards.
- Keep posted office hours during the week that are scheduled at times most beneficial to students.
- Keep lecture course content up-to-date.
- Confer periodically with the Department Head and applicable coordinators and faculty on curriculum, instruction, and assessment issues.
- Perform other related departmental duties as contractually required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold an M.S. or a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field.
- Have a minimum of four years of university teaching experience.
- Have a history of successfully working with diverse student populations.
