"Assistant Head Coach, Men's Soccer - Athletics - Division of Student Affairs"

Carnegie Mellon University's department of Athletics is searching for an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. A national research university, Carnegie Mellon is a member of the NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports program. This is a full-time, 10-month, recurring, benefit eligible position from mid-August to mid-June.

Core responsibilities include:

• Recruitment of potential student-athletes
• Demonstrate competency in technique instruction, motivation, and ability to conduct team and individual practice sessions under the direction of the head coach
• Game preparation and implementation, video analysis, and opponent scouting
• Planning team travel and event management
• Demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic, and athletic progress of student-athletes
• Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior pursuing sport program goals set by the head coach
• Leadership ability and professional behavior when working with student-athletes
• Transporting team in vans or cars to meets and off campus practice locations
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours and on weekends
• Teaching in the physical education program, as requested
• Covering shifts at recreation desks, as needed
• Knowledge of NCAA Division III, UAA Conference rules and policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• 1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience preferred or experience as a successful collegiate competitor
• A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is proven may be considered.
