About this opportunity:
The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities is a residential school for academically gifted high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The Indiana Academy is located on the campus of Ball State University. This is a full-time, 10-month (academic year) contract position, renewable based on satisfactory job performance. Anticipated assignments include three to four sections per semester of high school computer science courses, including AP, dual credit, and electives that align with Indiana Computer Science standards, in addition to Colloquium, student advising, or other service requirements. Other computer science electives are possible. Student needs and teacher experience determine the final course load.

Faculty work together across disciplines to provide a one-of-a-kind education to Indiana’s high-ability students that includes AP, dual-credit, and specialty courses.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
What you'll do and what you will bring:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach 12 credit hours each in fall and spring semesters of AP, dual credit, and electives that align with Indiana Computer Science standards, in addition to Colloquium, student advising, or other service requirements. Computer science electives that match the candidate’s specialty are possible. Student needs and teacher experience determine the final course load. Teach a colloquium course or be assigned a service duty each semester. Holding approximately 10 office hours per week. Providing professional service through various Outreach programs of the Indiana Academy. Engaging in scholarly activity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Education, or a related field. Previous teaching experience at the secondary or undergraduate collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Science or a related field. Significant previous teaching experience at the secondary or undergraduate collegiate level.
