Assistant or Associate Extension Professor of Soil Science and Director
The Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a full-time, 11-month, non-tenure track Assistant or Associate Extension Professor. This role oversees the UConn Soil Nutrient Analysis Laboratory and will become Director of the UConn Plant and Soil Health Center upon its completion. Duties include 70% Extension, 10% Administrative, 10% Teaching, and 10% Research. The position is based in Storrs, CT, with a preferred start date on or before August 23, 2025.
The successful candidate will manage soil sample analysis, develop educational programming, teach undergraduate courses, and collaborate with stakeholders. Key responsibilities include operating analytical instruments, preparing chemical solutions, and engaging in outreach activities such as workshops and newsletters.
Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree in soil science or related fields, relevant experience, and skills in laboratory management and communication.
