The Sonography department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor and Adult Echocardiography Clinical Coordinator position.
The Adult Echocardiography Clinical Coordinator provides leadership in coordinating clinical education with didactic coursework to ensure students achieve the clinical competencies required for the baccalaureate degree and national certification (RDCS or CCI). This role is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of clinical affiliate partnerships, providing direct clinical instruction, and documenting student progression toward professional competence in accordance with JRC-DMS accreditation standards. This is a 10-month, professional practice position that carries the expectation of 6.66 course loads each year. These course loads will include teaching and clinical coordination. Dependent on applicants' backgrounds and experience, the initial appointment may be at the assistant or associate professor level.
The Sonography department is part of the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health Sciences (HSSHS). With 19 degree programs and approximately 100 faculty, the HSSHS is the largest of St. Kate's three schools. Degrees are offered to students at all levels, from the associate to the doctoral level. The school is distinguished by programs' shared focus on ecological approaches to health, intercultural competency, and interprofessional collaboration. Faculty and staff will find ample opportunities for support in their teaching, scholarship, and professional practice. The Institute of Simulation and Interprofessional Learning (I-SAIL) provides resources and expertise to support the development and implementation of high-impact educational activities within HSSHS and the School of Nursing. The office of Sponsored Programs, Research, and External Engagement (SPREE) works with faculty to identify and prepare grant proposals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree.
- Must hold appropriate professional credentials for the concentration, specifically RDCS (Adult Echocardiography) or RCS (CCI).
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
- Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, and student guidance, as well as in educational theories and techniques (e.g., learning theory, curriculum design, or assessment).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Previous experience as a clinical coordinator
- Experience developing and implementing simulation activities
- Experience utilizing a learning management system while teaching (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard)

Compensation: Annual wages are dependent on qualifications and experience.
Assistant Professor: $70,300 - $77,000
Associate Professor: $79,200 - $87,000

Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
