Position Summary
The Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor or associate professor in the area of statistical machine learning, big data analytics, uncertainty quantification, integration of complex multimodal data sources, interpretable artificial intelligence (AI), and or the statistical foundations of AI, starting August 1, 2026.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop a research program that will be competitive for external funding, be engaged in the activities of the Department, and play a major role in building the University’s missions in research and teaching.

Applications should include: 1) a cover letter; 2) a curriculum vitae; 3) a research statement highlighting interest in and contributions to one or more of the areas of statistical machine learning, big data analytics, uncertainty quantification, integration of complex multimodal data sources, interpretable artificial intelligence (AI), and or the statistical foundations of AI; 4) a statement of teaching philosophy and experience, 5) a copy of the graduate school transcript (need not be official); and 6) names and contact information for at least three references.
