The Department of International Development invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Development Economics. We are a vibrant multidisciplinary department seeking candidates at the frontier of macro- or micro-development economics, strong skills in empirical causal inference, and a demonstrated interest in field-based research.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our growing MSc. in Economic Policy for International Development (EPID) and delivering high-quality teaching at the MSc and PhD levels to students across the department. They will show a commitment to working in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding research, engaging in other high-quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department, and participating in the School and wider Departmental activities.

Successful applicants for the Assistant Professor position will have a PhD, or be close to completing a PhD by the start date, in a relevant field. They must have proven ability to conduct quantitative empirical research using the tools of modern causal inference and to publish internationally excellent work in top economics journals.
