Job Summary
The Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado is seeking to recruit an ACGME fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon (part-time or full-time) with a strong interest in cosmetic dermatology to enhance our dermatologic surgery services and to lead our cosmetic dermatology practice.
Our department serves a diverse population within the greater Denver area, while also drawing patients from throughout Colorado and a five-state, 500-mile referral radius. Our providers work closely with colleagues across the system to achieve the best outcome for our patients.
The candidate should have completed an ACGME-accredited Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship and have a passion for excellent dermatologic care delivery, teaching, and scholarly endeavors. The ideal candidate should possess a willingness to innovate in the field of cosmetic dermatology to develop a new departmental clinical care delivery and clinical research service line focused on cosmetic dermatology. They will serve on the departmental leadership team as the Director of Cosmetic Dermatology. Key Responsibilities
- Perform Mohs Surgery for the treatment of skin cancers, including complex tumors.
- Help oversee Mohs surgical lab operations (histotechnicians, slide preparation, quality control).
- Expand procedural dermatology services, including complex excisions and advanced reconstruction.
- Provide consultations for high-risk skin cancers and coordinate multidisciplinary care with oncology, pathology, and radiation oncology.
- Develop a cutting-edge cosmetic dermatology program that incorporates novel treatments.
- Be a clinical innovator, with interest in expanding departmental clinical trials, to include cosmetic devices and technologies.
- Willingness to teach and assess trainees (including medical students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows) cosmetic dermatology procedures.
Work Location
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of ACGME-accredited dermatology residency training
- Completion of ACGME-accredited Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (MSDO) Fellowship
- Certification in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery through the American Board of Dermatology
- Eligibility for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Colorado
Assistant Professor: MD degree and 0-4 years of experience
Associate Professor: MD degree and 4+ years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in cosmetic dermatology (or substitute years of work experience in cosmetic dermatology)
- Experience in academic medicine
Anticipated Pay Range
Assistant Professor: The base salary range for this position has been established at $269,592 - $345,238. Approximate Total Annual Compensation (including productivity-based incentive) range is $419,592 - $495,238.
Associate Professor: The salary range for this position has been established at $354,979 - $440,156. Approximate Total Annual Compensation (including productivity-based incentive) is $504,979 - $590,156.
