Assistant or Associate Professor - Inclusive Education
Call for Applications: Tenure-Track Full Time Position 1, Inclusive Education, School of Psychology – UC Chile. Regular Academic Track Full Time Position in the Department of Psychology with academic research and teaching work shared with the Special Education Pedagogy Program. Research, teaching and outreach in Developmental Psychology, Special and Inclusive Education, with special interest in the development and education of people with disabilities, deaf people or people with autism. The Department of Psychology of the UC Chile has opened a competition for a full-time position for an assistant or associate professor in educational psychology with research and teaching work shared with the Special Education Pedagogy Program. The Special Education Pedagogy Program was established in 2023 as an interfaculty initiative, involving both the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Social Sciences, through the Department of Psychology. Experience in university teaching will be an advantage, as will publications related to special education, particularly those focused on individuals with disabilities, deaf individuals, or those on the autism spectrum. Additionally, knowledge or experience in bilingual education or intercultural educational approaches will be considered beneficial. Candidates are expected to develop research initiatives that enhance the understanding of educational trajectories in both regular and special schools, promoting inclusive teaching strategies for individuals with disabilities, deaf individuals, and those with autism. The chosen candidate must dedicate 50% of their working hours to teaching, either four courses per year or three courses along with additional responsibilities. Candidates are also expected to develop research with external funding and supervise Master’s and/or Doctorate theses. The individual selected will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology and Special Education programs, including Basic Psychological Processes, Developmental Psychology I, Psychology of Learning, and Research in Educational Psychology. Qualifications include fluency in Spanish and English, experience in teaching, proactivity, leadership, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
