The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota is seeking a board certified/eligible Pediatric General Cardiologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank on the clinician track. Through partnership and collaboration, we respectfully address the physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs of pediatric patients and their families. Position Highlights:
- The emphasis of the work will focus on pediatric general cardiology.
- The candidate will be responsible for pediatric general cardiology care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Options will be considered in non-invasive imaging if time, skill and interest present.
- Additional responsibilities will include: participation in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, clinical practice through UMPhysicians, and participation in service activities on behalf of the department, the medical school, and your profession.

- Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate’s area of specialty experience.
- Faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.
M Health and Clinical Partnerships
Providers practice at affiliated locations under the M Health Fairview shared care delivery system. This partnership represents a collaboration between University of Minnesota Physicians, University of Minnesota Medical Center and Fairview Health Services to build a nationally known academic health system that combines academic and community resources to provide the very best clinical care to patients and communities, while also supporting research and education across the joint healthcare delivery system.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- MD/DO and requires a graduate of an accredited ACGME Pediatric residency and completed a categorical Pediatric Cardiology fellowship training programs
- Board certified and/or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology
- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
- Ability to acquire/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
- Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.

About the Division:
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology is dedicated to providing outstanding and innovative pediatric heart care, education, and research. The Heart Center at M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital brings help and hope to pediatric heart patients. We are saving lives through innovation— leading the nation in developing new treatment methods for kids of all ages. Over the last three years, the Heart Center has demonstrated some of the best success rates of pediatric heart programs in the country.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $227,000 ; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
Position Type: Faculty and P&A Staff
