Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include a combination of administration, patient care, research and teaching activities.
I. Teaching 25%
- Supervises the provision of prenatal care and directly supervises the delivery of pregnant patients.
- Supervises residents in continuity clinic.
- Works with medical students at the Quincy site.
- Presents within the didactic curriculum for the SIU Quincy residency as needed.
- Mentors residents and students as needed.
II. Service 70%
- Provides direct patient care to own panel of patients at SIU Center for Family Medicine - Quincy including provision of prenatal care and delivery of pregnant patients.
- Conducts procedure clinics as needed.
- Participates in family medicine and obstetrical call.
- Participates in quality and peer review process.
- Serves on school and department committees as assigned.
III. Administration 0%
IV. Research/Academic Activities 5%
- Conducts research in areas of particular interest and publishes in referred journals. Completes at least 2 scholarly activities every 5 years.
- Attends and presents at local, state, and national professional meetings.
Qualifications
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
- Experience providing services to multicultural populations.
- Experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations.
- Must possess an MD or DO degree.
- Must have graduated from an accredited residency training program at time of hire.
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine at time of hire.
- Must be licensed in the State of Illinois to practice medicine at the time of hire.
- Must be willing to practice obstetrics and participate in the obstetrics call rotation.
- Must be willing to practice inpatient family medicine.
