Job Summary:

This is an Assistant Professor level position, involving clinical work in an outpatient setting which can include teaching responsibilities for clinical trainees. This position primarily works daytime hours, Monday-Friday. Patient documentation will be completed during administrative time.

The Special Care Clinic (SCC) serves as a medical home and consultative base for over 5,000 children in our region who are medically complex. This position will serve as a primary care provider for these patients. They will be responsible for managing their well visits, follow up visits, care coordination, chronic illness management, and treatment of minor and acute illness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct clinical care to patients in our region who are medically complex
• Engage in teaching of trainees when needed
• Participate in Provider of the Day rotation
• Participate in the on-call rotation
• As a 0.8cFTE, this position is expected to have 6, four-hour clinical sessions/week

Work Location: Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Professor:

• MD/DO
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics.

Condition of Employment:

• Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
• Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical experience/training with children who have special needs or children with complex needs
• Clinical experience in a pediatric outpatient environment.
• Clinical experience in a pediatric primary care location.
• Clinical experience in an academic setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with pediatric patients
• Capable of managing multiple patients at a time
• Good communication skills.
• Job requires flexibility in both duties and hours.
• Energetic, open-minded provider who enjoys working with a diverse and difficult population.

Anticipated Pay Range:

HIRING RANGE: Assistant Professor: $173,594 - $207,071
