"Assistant Professor - Chemistry"

Join a collaborative, student-focused department and play a key role in supporting student success in chemistry. The Assistant Professor - Chemistry provides instruction across a range of courses, from non-major survey classes to first-year general chemistry, including both lecture and laboratory components.

In this role, you will design and deliver engaging instruction using a variety of teaching methods, including traditional, online, and other delivery formats. You'll prepare course materials, lead laboratory sessions, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and evaluate student learning through assignments, exams, and projects. Advising students, supporting their academic progress, and maintaining course rigor aligned with national standards and transfer expectations are central to the position. You will also contribute to curriculum development, student recruitment, and departmental initiatives, while participating in college committees and professional development. Mentorship of adjunct and dual credit instructors may also be part of your work.

We're looking for an educator who can effectively teach a broad range of chemistry courses and laboratory classes, adapt teaching strategies to support varied learners, and create an engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, proficiency with instructional technologies, and the ability to use standard laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Minimum Qualifications
Masters of Science degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related discipline is required. A Master's degree in chemistry education plus additional relevant experience in teaching college-level chemistry or biochemistry may be substituted. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.

Starting pay range: $52,359 - $72,670

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: This tenure track faculty position has summers off, with pay and benefits spread over 12 months!
