Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at La Salle University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Computer Science (non-tenure-track). The candidate will teach in our Computer Science, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity programs. The candidate may also teach in our graduate programs in Computer Information Science, Cybersecurity, or Artificial Intelligence. The candidate will also help to coordinate our course offerings that are targeted toward students in other departments.
Essential Duties
- The teaching load is 12 credits per semester
- Most courses are 3 credits. Some programming courses have an associated lab, which will count as 6 credits of load.
- Advising students.
- Serving on committees.
- Coordinating some of our course offerings that are targeted toward students in other departments.
- Engaging with students both inside and outside the classroom is an important part of this position. What that looks like will vary from one faculty member to the next, but for many faculty it includes leading student research.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in Computer Science or related field.
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
