Overview
Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. This position is on-site and requires both face-to-face and online instruction. Areas of specialization are open, with preference given to candidates who demonstrate the ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate required core courses (i.e., introductory, methods, and ethics courses). Ability to teach courses in homeland security a plus. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to the department's career advising and mentoring of students.

Responsibilities
AUM has an official 4/3 teaching load. Faculty with ongoing scholarship and publication usually receive a course release for a normal 3/3 load. Internal funding and professional improvement leave to support scholarship are available.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- A Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice or other closely-related social science field is required; however, consideration will be given to candidates who are ABD with degree completion by August 2024.
- Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and the ability to develop electives in areas of expertise.
- Evidence of an established research program or ability to develop one.
- Commitment to community and professional service.
