Department Summary: The Secondary Education and Educational Leadership Department’s mission is to prepare educators, administrators, and related professionals to teach, lead, and serve in a diverse and evolving global society. Essential Duties: The Department of Secondary Education and Educational Leadership (SEEL) invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in educational leadership. The successful candidate will have the essential education, experience, and professional preparation to teach courses in the department and the educational leadership (EDLE) program, and to collaborate with faculty to support the mission of the department to serve and support students and our diverse campus community. The successful candidate will educate students primarily in the Educational Leadership program including the Education Specialist, M.Ed., Higher Education Administration, and administrator-licensure programs. Responsibilities may also include student teaching/practicum supervision, teaching, and advising in other undergraduate and graduate courses in the department. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty members in the program and the department as well as engage with College of Education and Health Sciences colleagues and other internal and external partners in program assessment, continuous improvement, marketing, student recruitment and enrollment, and expansion of existing programs through the creation of off-campus cohorts. This position requires contractually scheduled office hours for student advising and consultation. Additional responsibilities may include mentoring graduate students and other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Leadership/Administration/Policy/Planning by August 31, 2026. Candidates who have not yet earned their doctoral degree may be considered, but evidence of anticipated successful completion and degree conferral will be required.
  • Five or more years of experience in PK-12/16 school administration.
  • Expertise that contributes to the understanding of P-16 educational leadership, including (but not limited to): school, district, higher education administration, or community leadership; school improvement; and/or organizational development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to teach courses about educational leadership, organizational change, research, education finance, or education law for students who are both K-12 and higher education professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and teach online graduate courses utilizing effective online/hybrid teaching strategies to promote student learning.
  • A record of excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship commensurate for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor with a commitment to diverse perspectives and environments.
  • Experience in student learning management systems, program assessment, and evaluation utilizing state and national accreditation standards.
  • Experience or willingness to work with diverse and/or at-risk student populations.
  • Experience and commitment to teaching, advising, and/or mentoring graduate students.
