The University of Winnipeg is an urban campus on Treaty One land in the heart of the Métis homeland. We are a liberal arts and sciences institution with a diverse student body and a focus on undergraduate education. The psychology department has 19 faculty members with varied research interests and offers three-year, four-year, and honours undergraduate degrees. The successful applicant will: (a) teach Cognitive Psychology or Neuroscience and related courses. The ability to teach upper-level undergraduate statistics [e.g., Factorial ANOVA and Multiple Regression] and to integrate multiple statistical software packages [including SPSS and R] into instruction is also an asset; (b) maintain an active research program that incorporates undergraduates (recent tenure-track hires have obtained tri-council funding within the first two years of appointment); and, (c) share in the administrative responsibilities of the department and university.
As per our Collective Agreement, the successful applicant will receive a reduced teaching load in the first year and will be eligible for another in their second year. Additionally, faculty members who receive tri-council funding normally receive a yearly teaching reduction commensurate with their grant role.
