Assistant Professor in Mechatronics Engineering (Mechatronics/Robotics)
Located in downtown Toronto, the Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Mechatronics Engineering (MIME) in the Faculty of Engineering & Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Mechatronics Engineering focusing on Mechatronics/Robotics, effective July 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will engage in a combination of teaching (at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervising students, developing curriculum), scholarly research or creative activity (strong, externally funded, innovative program), and service duties.
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical-Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field by the appointment date. Evidence required: strong background in theoretical/experimental mechatronics/robotics complementing the Mechatronics Engineering group; emerging scholarly research; potential for teaching excellence; commitment to EDI; ability to contribute to department and university service. Eligibility for and commitment to acquiring P.Eng. License in Ontario is required.
The minimum salary for the Assistant Professor rank is $103,916.30 per annum, commensurate with qualifications. This position falls under the jurisdiction of the Toronto Metropolitan Faculty Association (TFA). View the TFA collective agreement and TFA benefits.
