COFAC, Cooperativa de Formação e Animação Cultural crl/ Universidade Lusófona, is seeking a fulltime Ph.D. lecturer and researcher, under the terms of the applicable legislation, with an Open-Ended Employment Contract, for the Lisbon University Center.

About Lusofona University:
Universidade Lusófona, with two campi, one located in the center of Lisbon and other in the center of Porto, is the largest private university in Portugal. The Faculty of Social Sciences, Education and Administration - FCSEA (Faculdade de Ciências Sociais, Educação e Administração) at Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre is an Academic Unit comprising two Departments, two Institutes and two Research Centres. It offers 21 degree-awarding programmes, including six undergraduate degrees, thirteen master's degrees, two doctoral programmes, and five postgraduate courses. FCSEA seeks to equip its students with intellectual and scientific autonomy, preparing them for the challenges of creativity and innovation while providing scientific and technical-professional knowledge and skills in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities, promoting interdisciplinary approaches.
FCSEA places a strong emphasis on research for teaching and scientific innovation, seeking to integrate into national and international networks in order to contribute more effectively to the scientific community. Teachers of this department integrate a center of Research and Development (R&D), CEIED – Interdisciplinary Centre for Education and Development Studies or Lusoglobe Centre for Global Challenges, in accordance with the field of study.

Main Duties
The work to be carried out will be:
- Teach on campus and, if necessary, online, in the areas of Political Science Political Theory;
- Participate in academic activities a level of Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees;
- Participate in professional and community outreach activities;
- Provide academic and career counselling to students;
- Conduct advanced and international research at the Faculty Research Centre;
- Contribute to the promotion of the internationalisation of FCSEA and Lusoglobe
Contractual terms:
- Full-time integration into the career structure of Universidade Lusófona;
- Open-ended contract;
- Gross monthly base salary depending on qualifications and professional experience, will range from €3.000 up to a maximum of €3.500 for a full-time position;
- Expected starting date: September 1, 2026;

Skills/Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have the following academic profile:
- To be, at the deadline for submitting applications, the holder of a valid Doctoral degree in Portugal, in Political Science;
- Demonstrate the capacity to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
- Have oral and written proficiency in Portuguese and English (B2);
- Have good teaching skills demonstrated in the organisation and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
- Have participated, preferably, in national and/or international R&D, extension and community outreach activities related to the areas mentioned;
- Preferably have authored relevant publications in international peer-reviewed journals (journals indexed in SClmago and Web of Science);
- Preferably have prior experience in coordinating research projects within the scope of the proposed thematic areas.

- Candidates must hold a PhD in the disciplinary area of Political Science.
- The main research areas are: Political Science.
Position to be filled and terms of open call:
- The call aims to hire a Ph.D. lecturer/researcher, with an open-ended employment contract.
- National, foreign or stateless Ph.D. lecturers/researchers may apply to the position [1].

Competences
- The selection panel will evaluate the applications.
- Minutes shall be taken for each meeting of the selection panel, including the issues discussed and the votes by each of the members and the grounds for the decisions made.
Selection Method
- Applications accepted are evaluated based in the quality, timeliness, and relevance of the academic and teaching curriculum, the scientific curriculum, scientific output and research experience appropriate to the strategic objectives of FCSEA and the Research Centre Lusoglobe, and the generation of new knowledge related to the scientific communities of FCSEA and Research Centre Lusoglobe, and the professional curriculum of the candidates, in addition to the level of suitability for the activity covered by the contract.
- The Selection Committee shall evaluate the following components, weighted as indicated, on a scale from 0 to 100 points:
- i) The candidate's scientific career, with particular emphasis on scientific work carried out or published in the last five years in areas related to the activity covered by the position (up to 60% of the assessment);
- ii) The candidate's professional experience, with particular emphasis on activities carried out in the last five years in areas related to the activity covered by the position (up to 35% of the assessment);
- iii) Cover letter in English, to assess the candidate's motivation and interest in the activities to be carried out and their proficiency in English (5% of the evaluation);
- If the Selection Committee decides to interview the candidates, up to three candidates will be considered from among those who obtained the highest classification and who obtained at least 60% in the assessment of the elements mentioned in i), ii) and iii).
