Assistant Professor in Residence, Careers in Psychology: UNLV Dept of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty member (Assistant Professor in Residence) to begin Fall, 2026.  A primary responsibility for this position is the development and instruction of undergraduate courses in careers in psychology.  This position also involves teaching foundational and upper-division courses, including capstone.  Career advancement is available with evidence of continued professional development and service contributions.  The Department seeks individuals who are committed to fostering an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.  Further, the Department seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals with a Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline, a commitment to undergraduate education, substantial teaching experience (including online teaching), and a willingness to work with a program coordinator for purposes of assessment and quality control.  The Department has 40 full-time faculty members, a B.A. program in psychology, a B.S. program in neuroscience, an APA-accredited Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology, a Ph.D. program in Psychological and Brain Sciences with cognitive, developmental, and quantitative/social/community areas of study, and is affiliated with a campus-wide interdisciplinary Neuroscience Ph.D. program.  A B.S. program in Children’s Behavioral Health Psychology is also in development.

Salary and benefits are competitive, and the position is contingent upon funding. UNLV is a doctoral-degree-granting institution of approximately 29,000 students and more than 3,000 faculty and staff that is classified R1 (research university with very high research activity) by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
