The Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty member (Assistant Professor in Residence) to begin Fall, 2026. The primary responsibilities for this position are the development and instruction of undergraduate courses for our traditional students and for our online degree program. This primarily includes psychology foundational courses (psychopathology, cognitive, development, perception, neuroscience, and social) as well as introductory (first-year experience, statistics, research methods) and upper-division (psychology and/or neuroscience) courses. Coverage of topics such as forensic psychology, children’s mental health, and capstone in psychology would be helpful. Career advancement is available with evidence of continued professional development and service contributions. The Department seeks individuals who are committed to fostering an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive. Further, the Department seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals with a Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline, a commitment to undergraduate education, substantial teaching experience (including online teaching), and a willingness to work with a program coordinator for purposes of assessment and quality control. The Department has 40 full-time faculty members, a B.A. program in psychology, a B.S. program in neuroscience, an APA-accredited Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology, a Ph.D. program in Psychological and Brain Sciences with cognitive, developmental, and quantitative/social/community areas of study, and is affiliated with a campus-wide interdisciplinary Neuroscience Ph.D. program.
