Skills/Qualifications
Candidates entering the competition are required to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Hold a professional medical qualification with the right to practise medicine in the Republic of Poland;
- Hold a doctoral degree;
- The candidate must have demonstrated, within the last two years (2024, 2025) prior to submitting an application for the post of assistant professor, have demonstrated a body of scientific work that would qualify them for a positive assessment in the periodic evaluation of an assistant professor's scientific output, conducted in accordance with the Institute's Regulations on the periodic evaluation of the scientific and research-technical output of academic and research-technical staff;
- Hold the title of specialist in the field of oncological surgery or be undertaking specialist training in this field;
- To have at least 3 full-text scientific publications in their academic record, published in peer-reviewed scientific journals included on the Ministry of Science and Higher Education's list of scientific journals, including one in which the candidate is the first author, co-first author or corresponding author, published within the last 6 years prior to submitting the application for the academic post of assistant professor;
- For those whose native language is not Polish, a certificate confirming proficiency in Polish at B1 level is required;
- Participation in research projects and evidence of multi-centre collaboration;
- Experience in teaching.
Specific Requirements
Candidates entering the competition should submit the following documents:
- a declaration of application for the post covered by the competition, together with the following statement: 'I consent to the processing of my personal data contained in the documents I have submitted by the Maria Sklodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology, Gliwice Branch to the extent necessary for the competition procedure, in accordance with the Act of 10 May 2018 on the protection of personal data (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1781)";
- a declaration to sign the following statements: "I, the undersigned, declare that on the date of signing the employment contract or an annex to the employment contract – for employment in a research post – I shall sign the following statements: 'Declaration of consent to be classified as a member of staff engaged in scientific activity' and 'Declaration on field and discipline' (field: medical and health sciences, discipline: medical sciences);
- documents confirming professional qualifications and the requirements specified in paragraph 1 of the competition notice;
- a personal statement or curriculum vitae;
- a list of academic publications, broken down into original papers, review articles, chapters in textbooks, participation in research grants/projects, and a description of other achievements (in research, teaching and organisational activities).
