Assistant Professor, Information Systems

The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems with an appointment to begin in the fall of 2026.

Ideal candidates should have the ability to teach a variety of upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses related to information systems (IS) successfully. Such courses may include artificial intelligence / machine learning for business, blockchain technologies, databases and business intelligence, data analysis, process analysis and mining, telecommunications and networks, enterprise systems, information security, IS management, IT project management, programming concepts, systems analysis and design, etc.

Candidates must have a clear research agenda with the potential for high-quality scholarly publications. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct high-quality research, build a strong record of scholarly work, advise students, serve on committees, and contribute to the Department and University.

Required Qualifications

• A doctoral degree with a primary area of study in Information Systems or a closely related field such as Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, Cognitive / Behavioral Science, Decision Science, or Business Analytics.
• Demonstrated record of or potential for conducting high-quality IS research.
• Demonstrated experience in or potential for excellence in teaching a variety of upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Demonstrated commitment to interact effectively with and successfully teach students from intersecting, marginalized social groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• A doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited business school or a prior record of success at an AACSB-accredited business school.
• A robust technical skillset in areas such as programming, AI / machine learning, database management systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain, or related business technologies.
